Helpful Local Sites/ Guides/ Gear
Baby Gear and stores are exhaustive so I’m not going to list all of the stores on the North Shore because they are easy enough to find on your own but here are some helpful websites for you! Don’t forget stores like Mountain Equipment Co-Op have gear for babies and kids that’s waterproof, windproof and sun safe. Any excuse for me to go to MEC, I’m happy!
www.babyvibe.ca. Started by a journalist mom this site is a voice for, and of, the new parents out there. Twice a week a fun and informative newsletter about products, gear and services is sent out. It’s specific to BC and Alberta so you can search all the BC archival information and you’ll find North Shore information there!
www.vancouvermom.ca. It’s got tons of info. and you can download (for free) an Active Mom and Baby Fitness Guide. One of Vancouver Moms sponsors is Active Baby.
Founded in 2009 Active Baby is a cool store in Capilano Mall in North Vancouver that promotes a green and active community and carries all sorts of great stuff for the active mommy and baby: baby tents, little kid backpacks, picnic blankets, UPF sun protection, many different child carriers, all season footwear, all terrain strollers, safety gear and more. Check out their website www.activebaby.ca or give them a call at 604-986-8977.
www.urbanmommies.com. An on-line baby resource based out of West Vancouver. Hip, current and smart. Taking you from belly to baby and beyond. The Kids section includes articles on playtime, sports, health and development.
